Are you looking for something different for a Naming Day? How about.a Mexican themed ceremony? It's easy to find Mexican hats at Dollar shops and Spotlight have a fabulous range of poncho material pretty cheap. There are also baby clothes around featuring cactus plants. Most children love corn chips, nachos and non-spicy Mexican snacks - as do their parents, maybe with a bit of chilli on the side! And celebrant Rebecca Skinner is happy to get into the costume theming!

Many couples who have been married before want a more casual ceremony the second time around. Often there are children and I think involving offspring in the ceremony in a way that suits their age can be a great start to the newly blended family. This wedding in Gloucester District Park was a good example with one of the bride's daughters being the ring bearer and both girls mentioned in the Asking,
The ceremony was by the river at Gloucester District Park and was both relaxed and romantic. The bride said afterwards, "Thank you so much, everyone said what a beautiful ceremony it was." I was honoured to conduct the funeral this week for a wonderful lady who I had been lucky enough to spend time with when I wrote her life story book. When all the guests gathered after the ceremony to share their memories at Palm Beach a pod of whales gave a breathtaking display. It was as if they were saying their goodbyes as they rose out of the water, breaching and waving their fins. It felt like a very special tribute to a very special lady. Is she nearly here yet? While the bride at this wedding was only a few minutes late, is it traditional for brides to be 'fashionably' late for their marriage ceremonies as many think? Not as far as I can make out. The only relevant tradition I can discover says the groom should be at the ceremony first as it is considered his 'duty' to lead the bride into her new life. That's also why grooms often say their vows first.
It is the ceremony that ensures you are married - so it's really the most important part of your wedding. And it should be a ceremony that not only reflects the bride and groom but one which is both meaningful and memorable to everyone who attends. There are so many different ways to make your ceremony unique and I'm able to give a multitude of different and unusual suggestions until you find the ones that are ideal just for you. The words too are so important and I can create everything from light-hearted and romantic to upbeat and zany. It's your wedding - your choice. But think before you opt for short and sweet - personal and meaningful makes so many more beautiful memories...
This is the beautiful garden of Maddies of Bolwarra - a stunning setting for a relaxed, outdoor wedding ceremony. Just outside East Maitland and next to Lorn it is perfect for a reasonably small gathering of around 50 guests. As night falls the flower-filled gardens are transformed into a fairytale setting with hundreds of sparkling lights. And there are rooms where the wedding party can stay.
What a picturesque spot for a wedding - Tuscany Estate in the beautiful Hunter Valley. Weather was perfect and all went according to plan!
They were married in a shearing shed - appropriate as the groom is a shearer - and the bride's two dogs and pet lamb formed part of the bridal entourage. The Dag Sheep Station at Nundle was the picturesque location around an hour's drive from Tamworth and apart from the lamb not wanting to walk down the red carpet, everything went perfectly! The Dag offers accommodation on site so proved perfect for the wedding party and guests who wanted to stay there. A very memorable day!
