YOUR LIFE STORY IS PRECIOUS - SHARE YOUR MEMORIES
THE GREATEST GIFT for yourself and your loved ones is a ‘living memory’ - your own life story in words and pictures that will live on into the future. But creating a life story is an overwhelming task for many people. Where should one begin? What should be included? How to write it so it reads like a professional book? How to make it fascinating reading? How to design it?
I will make it easy, working with you to capture your memories so they are preserved forever.
HEALTH BENEFITS of recalling your life story are many and varied and include improvement to immune system function, lowering pain levels, a decrease in depression, increase in self esteem and for older people a feeling of contributing, connecting with others and acknowledging regrets and achievements. All this helps in resistance to disease. Research is showing it can help lower blood pressure and even assist in breathing difficulties. Benefits also include improved exam grades amongst students.* For the elderly, recalling their life story, has been called 'Chocolate for the brain!'**
CREATING YOUR PART IN HISTORY Everyone’s life is unique and should be remembered and shared. Each one of us makes up a part of history and this forms a legacy for future generations.
THE INTERVIEW As a journalist Rebecca’s finely honed interview techniques will ensure no important moment is forgotten. She will provide a pre-interview 'memory prompt' to ensure she captures all the threads of your memories. She will then weave them into a captivating story. You approve the draft and then she will advise on print formats. You have full control every step of the way.
A HELPING HAND If you have notes already written, a collection of random stories, or a family tree, Rebecca can help put this into a professional format. Perhaps you have already written your story but need help structuring, editing and printing, ensuring it maintains your own unique ‘voice’.
PROFESSIONAL ADVICE As an experienced magazine and book editor, Rebecca can help you decide how long you want your story to be, what should be included, what angles to take and how to link subject matter so the story makes fascinating reading. She can advise on what images to include and discuss numbers of copies and prices.
BEAUTIFUL BOOKS, softcover, hardcover, with dust jackets and some with padded fabric that come in their own presentation folder are all options to choose from.
YOUR BUDGET Rebecca can tailor-make your Life Story to suit your budget - from a few dozen pages to a few hundred...

**CHOCOLATE FOR THE BRAIN. Now scientific research is revealing how recalling life events has a host of
physical and emotional benefits. Dr. Gene Cohen, author of The Mature Mind, believes
it is critical saying, “Autobiography for older adults is like chocolate for the
brain.” He says brain scans on people reminiscing, aged in their 70s and 30s,
found the entire hippocampus “lit up” in the older group, while the 30-year-olds
utilised only one small part of the left hippocampal region.
